What a metal-seated butterfly valve do?

Metal-seated valves are valves with sealing surfaces made of metal materials, offering superior sealing performance and suitable for high temperature, high pressure, and corrosive media. They exhibit strong corrosion resistance, a wide temperature range (up to -196°C to +600°C or higher), and possess high rigidity and wear resistance. Metal-seated valves are widely used in industries such as petroleum, chemical engineering, and power generation, especially in applications with extremely high sealing requirements. Common types include metal-seated ball valves, butterfly valves, and gate valves, accommodating various fluid control needs.

Features of Metal-Seated Butterfly Valve

  1. The valve employs a four-dimensional eccentric design with body (A), seat (B), and two specialized elliptical seals (C and D). This enhances the cam effect, allowing the butterfly plate to separate when opening and seal upon closing, minimizing friction and extending service life.
  2. It features a movable seat and sealing ring, allowing for multi-layer composite or metal seals based on conditions. The modular design permits easy on-site replacement without special tools, avoiding total valve failure from sealing surface damage.
  3. The sealing surface is treated with supersonic spray welding or nitriding, achieving a hardness of HRC 40-65, effectively resisting wear from particles and dust.
  4. The hardness difference between the seat and sealing ring is crucial; our design ensures a minimum difference of HRC 10, reducing wear and enhancing sealing performance.
  5. The valve seat and sealing ring are precision machined using high-speed diamond grinding, achieving a mirror finish that ensures bubble-tight zero leakage upon closure.
  6. It includes built-in fire protection features.
  7. For volatile media, a low-leakage carbon fiber packing is available to meet ISO 15848 and API 622 standards.
  8. The high-strength steel valve stem features an extended inner bearing for enhanced support, improving valve lifespan and performance.
  9. The design incorporates a blowout-proof stem.
  10. An ISO 5211 mounting pad enables easy installation of pneumatic, electric, and gas-liquid linkage devices for automation control.
